The Men's Skin Care Guide

If you are planning on aging gracefully into a silver fox, you’ve got to start taking care of your skin and it’s all about starting early. The key to erring on the side of George Clooney is to use a simple three step skin care regime that combines hard-working, tried and tested ingredients like charcoal, caffeine, vitamin E and C.

Now we get that this whole skin care regime might not sounds like “you” and we'll admit anti-aging is not an immediately captivating word for everyone. But if you’ve ever thought that you’d spent too many days in the sun without SPF or haven’t quite slept enough in your thirties, then its best you start implementing a skin care regime to preserve those good looks!

Facial Scrub + Charcoal For Men

Step 1: Exfoliation

The first step in your skin care routine should focus on cleansing and exfoliating. You should cleanse twice a day, once in the morning and once at night with either a cream-based cleanser (if your skin is dry) or a foaming cleanser (if you struggle with excess oil and breakouts). Twice a week treat your skin to an exfoliating treatment or scrub. This will slough away dead, dry skin cells and smooth rough patches. It will also assist in preventing ingrown hairs as the hair follicle does not need to push through a layer of dead skin cells. It also allows your other skin care products, like your daily moisturiser, to work harder to keep you looking fresh. The Skin Republic for Men Facial Scrub contains a natural exfoliant (no nasty microbeads which pollute the environment) to remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin.

Additional weekly step: If you have problematic pores our Charcoal nose strips could be the answer.  The black head busting strips deep drawing out excess oil and impurities. Witch Hazel, Aloe Vera and Green Tea helps to tighten pores and reduces redness.

Energising Face Mask Sheet For Men

Step 2: Hydration

While we’re not suggesting you throw out your daily moisturiser sometimes your skin needs an extra moisture-boost. Enter the second step in your quest for a Benjamin Button face: a face mask sheet. Say what? Think of it as a mud mask's more sophisticated older brother - mess free and can be used anywhere. A sheet mask is a cotton mask with holes for the eyes, nose and mouth, (if you’re picturing Hannibal Lector you’re on the right track) saturated in 23ml of skin restoring serum. Think of it as a skin care boost to your regular exfoliate-cleanse-moisturise routine – something to do when your skin needs a reboot.

The Skin Republic for Men Energising Face Mask Sheet is super-hydrating and comes in two sections: one for the top and another for the bottom of your face. This makes it ideal for bearded guys who can wear it over their beards or keep until you’ve removed your scruff as a great post shave treatment. This mask is perfect for men who are concerned about tired, dry skin and the onset of wrinkles. Containing wrinkle-fighting CoQ10, vitamin E and smoothing vitamin C, the sheet mask cools and hydrates your skin, leaving it smoother than your pick up lines. After 20 minutes your face feels as though it has been refreshed and reborn.

Step 3: Eye Mask

The final step is an eye mask. Different to an eye cream these soft gel eye masks provide a concentrated and continuous dose of skin care ingredients to the delicate under eye area – no patting or pulling required which is often the case with eye creams and can damage the fragile skin under the eyes. The Skin Republic Collagen Hydrogel Under Eye Patches are infused with Green tea, aloe vera and collagen, cooling the skin upon application. Instantly reducing under eye puffiness, dark circles and dryness eliminating pesky signs of tiredness to reveal eyes which look more awake and refreshed.
